Our antique Real Wrought Iron is salvaged from the 1887 Globe Elevators in the form of hundreds of thousands of pounds of rods up to 14 feet long.

The term "Wrought Iron" has become diluted in modern times to refer generically to ornamental metal, typically with cheap soft steel, or even painted aluminum or tin.
"Real Wrought Iron" refers to something very different.

Real Wrought Iron is the only ferrous metal that contains a silicious slag fiber.  Real Wrought Iron is no longer commercially produced; it is available only by recycling antique structures.

The physical properties of this unique metal include unmatched workability and resistance to corrosion, which make it highly sought after by blacksmiths, blade smiths, artisans, restoration contractors, and architects specifying authentic architectural metalwork.
